Miranda Kerr Defends Embarrassed Aussie Banker
Feb 5th
Australian model Miranda Kerr has spoken out in defense of the Aussie banker caught ogling her photos on live television earlier this week. David Kiely of Macquarie Private Wealth was seen in the background of a news item looking at photos of Kerr much to his embarrassment. The video of the news item has been watched over 2 million times in the three days it has been on Youtube.
Kerr has voiced her support for Mr Kiely who she says should not be sacked: “I am told there is a petition to save his job and of course I would sign it,”. Despite reports of Mr Kiely being let go he is apparently still employed at Macquarie Private Wealth although he is thought to have been suspended whilst investigations take place. The fact that he was sent the photos via email suggests that he may have been set up by a workmate.
Various petitions and Facebook groups have sprung up in the banker’s defense and concerned viewers have been emailing the bank in order to try and protect his job. The photos in question from Miranda Kerr’s recent GQ feature are not that explicit so it is hoped that the filthy banker will be back at work soon.
Mitch Hedberg Live on the Late Show.

Here is a video of the late, great Mitch Hedberg performing his standup live on The Late Show in 2003. This was Mitch’s last spot on the show before he passed away. If you’ve never seen Mitch’s stand up before you can thank me later

Compare The Meerkat: The Outtakes Video
Mar 25th
The Compare The Meerkats ad campaign was created by VCCP for CompareTheMarket.com and is a rare example of a viral ad actually going viral. Lots of companies have tried and failed (See Radio 4’s really quite bad attempt) to capture a bit of online buzz. The idea and the execution was good enough for people to actually seek out comparethemeerkat.com and possibly even comparethemarket.com.
It helps that Aleksandr_Orlov (the Meerkat who stars in the advert) has his own Twitter account as well as a functional Meerkat comparing site. The latest part of the campaign is an out-takes video showing bloopers featuring Aleksandr fluffing his lines and struggling with the English language.
Girl Recreates American Beauty for Boyfriend Who Hasn’t Seen The Film
Feb 13th
Lesley Heague thought she would treat her boyfriend Luke for Valentines day so she organised a surprise for him. She asked Luke if he would like a dvd for February 14th and he suggested the thriller American Gangster. Unfortunately Lesley misheard Luke and thought that he wanted American Beauty.
Miss Heague decided to hire a fancy hotel room for £700 and recreate the iconic scene from the film where Mena Suvari appears wearing only some carefully placed rose petals. She even hired a professional photographer to document it. All was going to plan until it turned out that Luke had never seen American Beauty and was more of a fan of Denzel Washington than Mena Suvari.
“I was so pleased with it all and mentioned to his Luke’s best friend what I’ve got planned for him, only to be told that he has never seen American Beauty. It turns out his favourite film is American Gangster and that is the DVD he wanted. I must have misheard what he said. It was after I’d had a couple of drinks.”
